Winnipeg Studio Theatre’s 2012-13 kicks off with the Canadian premiere of the new contemporary musical Ordinary Days, with music and lyrics by Adam Gwon, one of musical theatre's most exciting new composers.

The show features Connie Manfredi as ‘Deb’, who, like her character, is a stressed-out Starbucks addict who owns too many scarves. Director Kayla Gordon chose the Winnipeg actor/singer for the role over 150 Toronto hopefuls, because "Her acting is what gave her the extra edge. She has a solid background in acting from the University of Winnipeg Theatre Program and it paid off. A lot of people who auditioned had phenomenal voices, but didn’t have the acting chops to support them." Joining Manfredi in the cast are Justin Bott, Jay Davis and Clara Scott.

A co-production with Toronto’s Angelwalk Theatre, Ordinary Days will be directed by Winnipeg Studio Theatre artistic director Kayla Gordon (My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding, Spring Awakening, Altar Boyz, Hersteria, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,), with musical direction by Paul De Gurse (My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding, Avenue Q, Title of Show) and choreography by Brenda Gorlick (Set and costumes will be designed by Scott Penner (Stratford’s Cymbeline, Angelwalk Theatre’s I Love You Because) with lighting design by Siobhán Sleath (Angelwalk’s I Love You Because, Hart House’s Cabaret).
